La Pieve is a quiet farmhouse just off the main road to Gualdo, snuggled into the side of a hill. The only sounds you will hear in this restful retreat are birdsong and the occasional rumble of a tractor at work. Nothing much stirs here other than wildlife; even the tractors take their time in this leisurely part of the country which is Marche. The days are long and slow and for the most part hot. The house is surrounded only by fields, green as far as the eye can see with views towards the Monti Sibillini which rise up majestically, a perfect harbour for the setting sun. And the sun doesn't set here without a fanfare of light and colour only nature can create. You can watch the spectacle from the terrace whilst you sip a glass of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, just one of the best wines of the region or from your lounger by the swimming pool after a long, lazy afternoon. The country house is truly Italian in style, grand without being pretentious, with 5 large bedrooms and bathrooms, 3 en-suites. If you like a kitchen to really work for you then this house has it, designed for industrial use, it has a dishwasher, independent large fridge, independent large freezer, 4 ring gas hob, oven, grill/barbecue, 3 sinks and all utensils. All the rooms are fitted with mosquito nets so while you may enjoy nature to the full outdoors, nothing comes indoors unless invited! The land surrounding and belonging to the house, some 5 hectares, not only provides a safe environment for family rambles but a substantial playground for the most energetic of children. The house is close to Gualdo, one of the wonderful medieval villages which makes up "The Golden Triangle" only a few minutes drive away or walkable (2 km) for those who enjoy a bit of exercise on holiday. Sarnano and San Ginesio which form the other two points of the triangle are only 10 - 15 minutes away by car. As well as the historic interest of the towns, all provide restaurants, shops and during the summer season a host of events and festivals so frequent you can almost find an event to attend every day. A lot of them centre on food so if you are watching your waist line, leave the tape measure at home! What we offer at La Pieve is a haven of peace; to do nothing other than just breathe in the air and take in the views is enough for some people. But here in Le Marche, a region virtually unchanged in hundreds of years, steeped in history, art and architecture, known for its fine wines and country cuisine, there is something to delight everybody. You are invited to come and discover it for yourself.
